Whether you've always wanted to learn the game or have a small group ready to get started, GatherMahj brings everything needed for a relaxed, hands-on learning experience right to your home or chosen location.

Lessons are designed specifically for beginners and taught at a comfortable pace. There's no pressure to memorize the card or learn everything in one sitting—our goal is to help you build confidence while having fun around the table.

What to Expect

Learning American Mahjong doesn't have to feel overwhelming. We'll guide your group step by step, making the game approachable, engaging, and enjoyable.

Your lesson includes:

  • Premium American Mahjong sets, racks, pushers, and playing accessories

  • Current National Mah Jongg League cards for each participant (up to 8 players)

  • A complete table setup before your lesson begins

  • A guided introduction to the tiles, suits, Charleston, and basic game play

  • Hands-on instruction as you play real games

  • Plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the lesson

  • Helpful strategy tips to build confidence

  • A relaxed, encouraging atmosphere with no prior experience required

Most lessons are best suited for 4–8 players, allowing everyone plenty of individual attention while learning together.

By the end of your session, you'll understand the fundamentals of American Mahjong and be ready to continue practicing with family and friends.

Includes complete equipment, current National Mah Jongg League cards, instruction, guided game play, and follow-up resources.

Two Tables (up to 8 players)

Starting at $375 for approximately 3 hours

Designed for groups who want to learn together while still receiving plenty of individual instruction.
